The creation of marine protected areas will contribute to the protection of complex habitats by promoting the thriving of both fish and bird populations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">LHEI tasks:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>conduct underwater video observations of protected marine habitats, territory mapping, evaluation of potential marine protected areas for Natura2000 network;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>develop quality criteria for the evaluation of protected marine habitats;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>improve monitoring methodology for the assessment of qualitative and quantitative changes and impact assessment in marine underwater habitats, fish and bird populations;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>evaluate the effectiveness of protected marine areas in sea waters belonging to Latvia;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>develop a nature protection plan for all protected marine areas;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>carry out an assessment of ecosystem services of underwater marine
