The final conference of Lakes connect took place in Poland on April 10-11 and the results of the project were presented<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On April 10-11<\/strong> the final conference of Lakes connect project took place in Gizycko, Poland. The project partners from Latvia, Lithuania and Poland presented the results of the project – the obtained data on microplastic pollution<\/strong>, recommendations on how to reduce the pressure of tourism-related pollution in lakes and a network of stakeholders interested in cooperating in the future to improve lake environment. <\/p>\n\n\n\nLHEI Research Assistant Valent\u012bna Burdukovska<\/strong> participated in the conference with a presentation on the project’s achievements in Latvia. During the conference, other projects implemented at LHEI and related to lakes were also presented – Senior Researcher Inta Dimante-Deimantovi\u010da<\/strong> introduced the conference guests to “Trust Alum” project, while Environmental Engineer Alise Bebr\u012bte<\/strong> presented floating islands in the “BioFloat” project.<\/p>\n\n\n\nDuring the conference we had the opportunity to visit the new educational center in the Masurian Lakes region (Masurian Center for Biodiversity and Nature Education KUMAK<\/a>), where the values of local nature are shown in an interactive way.
