Zoom in on microplastics and learn about their origin in a virtual exhibition
Microplastics in city space
Visit www.mpincityspace.eu and have a look at various microplastic fragments that were found in the center of Riga and are actually about 0.5-5mm in size.
This virtual exhibition was created by LIAE in the framework of research project R092 of Interreg Baltic Sea region transnational cooperation program for 2014-2020 “Innitiatives to remove microplastic before it enters the sea – FanpLESStic-sea”.
Microplastic particles and fibers are produced by wear and tear of items such as synthetic shoe soles, clothing, car tires, building and insulation materials, artificial turf, packaging and other plastic materials that we encounter in our daily lives.
