Play the new “Water Circus” and learn about water management in Latvia!

Water management is not a game, but it can be exciting! As the November 18th holiday approaches in Latvia, we are introducing a game developed in the framework of GYPREG project – “Water Circus”, where players can encounter current water management challenges and success stories in Latvia at each step.

Be careful, as some of the roads lead to challenges such as water pollution, which reduces ecosystem services. On the other hand, smart and sustainable water management allows you to reach the top! In the game, almost every field will take you to a current project in Latvia:

  • get to know Latvian gypsum and learn how it can help reduce phosphorus runoff from agricultural lands;
  • find out whether it is safe to drink from Latvian springs or whether it is better to choose tap water;
  • follow the unique floating island project and other current developments!

The game is based on the motives of the popular game “Circus”. Print and play! You can use any small object as a player piece, but if you have no dice, there are different free apps available for mobile phones. Be creative! ej.uz/udens-cirks

If you would like to receive the file for printing in the size of 3×3 meters, contact us!

The game was created by the Latvian Institute of Aquatic Ecology in the framework of Interreg Baltic Sea Region program project “Reducing phosphorus load from agricultural lands by improving the soil (GYPREG)” with the financial support of the European Regional Development Fund. The governing body of the program is not responsible for the possible use of the information in the game
