The project “Invasive species monitoring in SPNTs using the eDNA method” (No. 1-08/87/2023) has been successfully completed. The aim of the project was to monitor presence of invasive species in specially protected nature territories (SPNT) using the eDNA analysis approach. In accordance with the set goals, the following was done:

In addition, extensive public awareness events for various audiences took place in September. In the middle of September the scientific audience was informed about possible research methods for invasive species at the “Life for Species” conference (September 19-20, 2024, Riga). In the last week of September, the final project seminar was organized for all interested parties, both in person and remotely (25.09.2024, Sigulda). On the last Friday of September, at the annual Researchers’ Night event families with children were informed in an interactive way (27.09.2024, Daugavpils).
