A look back at the Researchers’ Night 2024
Researchers’ Night took place on Friday, September 27. This year LHEI, as an agency of Daugavpils University, introduced current research topics to the visitors of the event at Daugavpils University, Parades Street 1A, Daugavpils from 17.00 – 21.00. During the event, LHEI educated about ecology of the Baltic Sea and Latvian freshwaters. By attending LHEI activities, it was possible to learn:
- which invasive species are found in Latvian freshwaters and how is their presence measured?
- what is eutrophication and how can it be reduced by using aluminum sulphate and gypsum?
- what is microplastic pollution and how does it affect the state of the water environment?
- how, where and why to grow seaweed?
LHEI activities took place in the framework of projects “Invazīvo sugu monitorings ĪADT izmantojot vides DNS metodi (Nr.1-08/87/2023)”, “TRUST ALUM”, “GYPREG”, “AlgaePRO BANOS” and “COOL BLUE Baltic”.
