Only two weeks until lake Velnezers treatment with ALUM method
Today project partner from Sweden “Vattenresurs” visited Latvia to perform the final preparations before the treatment of lake Velnezers in Riga. The partners have made a smaller and lighter treatment boat specifically suited for lake Velnezers. During the visit, we clarified the plan for the treatment week and discussed the most important logistical aspects.
TRUST ALUM project manager Inta Dimanta-Deimantoviča states that the piloting of the ALUM method is an important step towards modern treatment and management of Latvian lakes and hopes that this experience will serve as an encouragement for treating other heavily polluted lakes in Latvia.
The treatment equipment will arrive in Latvia next week, when the site preparation work and the installation of the boat in the lake will take place. We invite to follow the news and participate in informative events!
