Event “Stories from the sea depths”
On January 25 an event organized by society “Domesnes” called “Stories from the sea depths” took place in Kaltene club, where LHEI researcher Ieva Putna-Nīmane introduced the new project “Collection and Recycling of End-of-Life and Lost Fishing Gear (COREEL)” – goals, planned activities and what has been done so far.
LHEI research assistant Gustavs Ruskuls presented the findings of “LIFE REEF” at the event. The audience were introduced to the relevance of marine protection, the reef habitat of the Baltic Sea, and the unique underwater landscape of Alku shoal discovered within the framework of the project.
