New projects – “CLEAN Beach” and “PELLETS”
LHEI is launching Interreg Central Baltic Sea Region Programme project “CLEAN Beach” as a lead partner together with Finnish Environment Institute (SYKE) and Tallinn University of Technology (TalTech). The project aims to improve microplastic monitoring on public beaches, making it more efficient and adaptable to different regions.
We have also joined project “PELLETS” funded by the Finnish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which focuses on identifying the distribution of plastic pellets on Baltic Sea beaches and introducing the citizen science platform “Rosgis” in Latvia and Estonia.
Representatives of LHEI, SYKE and TalTech met in Tallinn on March 2 to discuss synergistic activities and work plan of both projects, as well as to strengthen cooperation
