Interreg BSR Programme Conference in Tampere

On May 20-22 in Tampere, Finland around 300 participants joined the Interreg Baltic Sea Region Programme Conference. At the event projects implemented in the framework of the programme were showcased, covering a wide range of topics. These projects are united by cross-border cooperation and sharing of good practices between participating countries – this cooperation was highlighted at the conference as the magic of Interreg.

At the event Latvian Institute of Aquatic Ecology presented project GYPREG, presenting gypsum from Latvian quarries and project TRUST ALUM demonstrating water samples from Lake Velnezers before and after treatment with the ALUM method (more about the achievements of the project here). Barbara Massalska-Duszczyk from LHEI participated in the event from the “TRUST ALUM” team together with our project partner in Sweden Vattenresurs, represented by Julie Garrison.

During the conference, there was an opportunity to learn about current achievements and future directions of Interreg. Engaging seminars highlighted the importance of cooperation across borders in governance, cutting-edge research and the role of society to implement our bold ideas. The project exhibition provided an opportunity to get to know other projects, establish valuable contacts and showcase our Interreg Baltic Sea Region funded projects.
