Two days on waves at the conversation festival LAMPA
On June 20-21 the pond in Cēsis Castle Park turned into a floating stage of ideas, where LHEI, together with more than 30 industry experts and festival participants talked about the importance of water resources, the future and solutions!
Over the course of two days the floating stage on the Blue Green Island was home to 7 powerful discussions, 2 creative workshops and more than 10 scientific projects and solutions were presented on topics such as water quality, pollution, microplastics, and even digital lakes.
To make this grand event dedicated to the institute’s 30th anniversary happen, the LHEI team and partners were involved from projects Lakes Go Digital, BioFloat, CLEAN Beach, TRUST ALUM, SediQ, iVALUE, LIFE REEF, Detect2Protect, GYPREG, MP-Arctic and Algae ProBANOS.
Despite the changing weather conditions, over 20,000 people attended the festival. We are still pleasantly shocked, grateful, and inspired!
If you were unable to follow the discussions during the event, video recaps of the discussions are available here:
- Opening discussion “Water research and management in Latvia: do we know how to do it (well)?”
- Discussion “Lakes and rivers today and in the memories of grandparents”
- Conversation “Waters, models and landscape architects: what do they all have in common?”
