European Marine Observation and Data Network (EMODnet) Chemistry V

“EMODnet Chemistry” provides access to marine chemistry data, standardized, validated data collections and reliable data products, which are crucial for assessing ecosystem status under the Marine Strategy Framework Directive for all European marine regions. “EMODnet Chemistry” collects data on different substances in water, sediments and biota, solid waste on beaches, water and sediments. This evidence-based information is essential to understanding seawater chemistry and its natural and/or human-induced changes. This information is also important for identifying and taking measures to tackle challenged in the marine environment that threaten the marine ecosystem and human health.

In the framework of this project LIAE collects information on marine monitoring data, prepares the data and metadata in an appropriate reporting format, performs data quality control according to the agreed criteria and reports/submits this data to the SeaDataNet platform maintained by EMODnet.
