In an interview with Latvijas Radio, Anda Ikauniece, senior researcher at LIAE, talks about the munitions dumped in the Baltic Sea and the risks associated with it. Some 300 000 tonnes of unexploded munition still lie at the bottom of the Baltic Sea, polluting the sea and hampering economic development.
This week, the topic was discussed in Palanga, Lithuania, where ministers from the eight European Union countries that surround the Baltic Sea met.
