LHEI activities at Liepāja Sea Festival 2024
On Saturday July 13 LHEI participated in the Liepāja Sea Festival, where we introduced our research topics at the LHEI tent on the beach and where attendees could participate in educational activities. By far the most popular activity was exploring the fishing net. In aquariums people could take a closer look at the species of fish and invertebrates living in the Baltic sea.
Despite the rainy weather there were many curious visitors around our tent. We thank “Liepājas Kultūras pārvalde” for the invitation to take part and thanks to visitors for their curiosity!
LHEI activities were carried out in framework of projects “LIFE REEF”, “AlgaePro BANOS”, “Detect2Protect”, “BEACON”, “EMODnet Data Ingestion”, “GYPREG” and “Dynamics and distribution of microplastic pollution in the waters of the seas and lakes of Latvia and Iceland – starting a new direction of cooperation”.
