Researcher, Marine Monitoring Department, Hydrochemistry laboratory
- The main research focus is on coastal dynamics, coastal processes, longshore sediment flux and wave influence on the coastal zone Specialty in environmental engineering and the research work is related to the study of the coastal processes dynamics. Particular interest in the dynamics of coastal changes, the influence of waves on coastal processes, the dynamics of longshore drift flows, as well as the impact of climate change on coastal processes
- In addition, analysis of spatial data and the preparation of cartographic materials. This includes processing and preparing data for databases to ensure accurate and reliable data for further research and analysis. Integration and visualization of spatial data, which is an essential element in environmental research and planning
- Great importance is also given to science popularization, trying to make the research of coastal processes accessible and understandable to the general public. Maija Viška is active in science communication to promote public awareness of environmental issues and the impact of climate change on coastal ecosystems
